During the month of July 2009, Maranatha Churches around the world are focusing their prayers on the co-workers of the church members (the people with whom we interact at our jobs or workplace).
We are praying for the salvation of our co-workers, and also for God to bless the members of the churches at their jobs, and to provide jobs for members who are currently unemployed.
- During the first week, the churches will devote their early morning prayer meetings (6 am) to this subject.
- During the second week, the churches will fast together each day until 9 am.
- During the third week, the churches will have noon prayer meetings devoted to this topic.
- During the fourth week, the church members should make an extra effort to invite their co-workers to church, in faith that the previous three weeks of prayer and fasting by the whole church for this subject will release a blessing for this outreach.
(During the first week, the pastor should pray for all the members of the congregation who are currently employed, for a blessing at their workplace and effectiveness in evangelism)
Recommended prayer list for this month:
- For the Lord’s protection over all the servants while commuting to work;
- Deliverance from accidents and attacks in the workplace;
- That we could have a good testimony and good relationship with co-workers;
- For better working conditions for the brethren, such as work schedules that do not hinder the servants from participating in church services;
- For preservation of the brethren in their jobs, and for open doors for those who are currently unemployed;
- Plead for the Lord to grant us grace for inviting co-workers to services.
- For the Lord to bring our co-workers to salvation
“Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.” (1 Timothy 6:1, KJV)
